Mission-Net 2011-2012 =D

Wow. It's just so amazing. I'm on my way home and I just can't stop thanking God for everything I've experienced these 7 days. It's just too great, too big for words. And yet, there was someone who said he felt exactly the way I do. So I'll make his words mine and try to explain what my heart contains. I've seen God working in our hearts, I've felt his amazing love again. I've listened to so many histories of his love, I've seen people cry, just overwhelmed by his Hand.

Mission-Net, a suddenly and crazy decision. I had absolutely NO IDEA of what it was, I just said yes when I heard that the stand of GlobalRecordingsNetwork needed someone who could go and help. And I can see now that it was just what God wanted for me. It's so amazing, the way He works... Well.
The first really amazing thing was the first Evening Celebration. The welcome words in so many languages, it was just wonderful. It was for me like I've always dreamed: the world in one. It was just the best place, the best time to come together to worship the One. And with more than 2500 young people from 40 different countries... It was overwhelming. To feel the hearts of so many people, together in One. And with true faith, not like what I see every day but people with a great desire of serving the One who died for us all. And as the flags were moving forward, we stood and sang in different languages, but worshiping the same Great God. It was just wonderful. Well, this was only the beginning. God works so amazingly...

One of the mornings, while driving to the Congress Center with Lisa and Dina, we saw snow. And we got lost. But we got lost for a reason: God wanted me to meet William, from Latin Link. And then, while talking, we found out that I was just the person they were looking for: I love writing, I'm from Colombia, and I'm good in languages. I think God was just showing me what it is to follow His voice: that he actually amazes us with his ways of working with us. Well, there's more, of course. But I can't explain it all. What God did in my heart, it's too complex for human words!

On the 30th, we reached out. We went to the city... To go to the people of Erfurt. We had so much fun... Painting our faces and the kids' faces... With clowns and crazy games... And meeting special people. Like the craziest Italian guys, Emanuele and Franco, and Stefano!

With Melanie, Stefano, Franco, Emanuele e una ragazza
de la que olvidé el nombre pero no la cara!

I had't met any Italians before... And that day, I also met a French young man who actually spoke English and German!! And, sharing my mandarine, I met a very nice, lovely Butterfly.

Her name is Melanie.

Thank you Melanie for the crazy afternoon we spent together. Two girls going to save two "poor" Italian guys who went the wrong way... Oh, dear, we actually underestimated them. But we got almost caught by a tram and a car, and we laughed a lot together, so it was worth it.

Back at the Messe, we had to face a hard reality. The way the food is distributed between rich, less rich and poor families is awful.

On the 31th, I went with Dina to the Bistro for a cup of tea. But we decided to go upstairs first, and leave our handprint against human traffic. We couldn't, but there was a group of young people singing. One of them told us to join them. I love singing, but my German is not good enough. So I said: "But... Is it German?"

Stolen from Steffen! Thank you!

They told me it wasn't, they were from different countries so it would be just fine if I joined them. Dina wanted her cup of tea, but she told me to stay with them and sing. So that's what I did. It was just one of the best experiences ever. Different people, from different countries, cultures, backgrounds... Praising one God, for being an AWESOME GOD. Just like it'll be in Heaven. I was feeling really good. It was the last day of 2011, and actually, it was the best way of ending such a year. For the first time in my life, I met two people from Denmark! Simon and Miriam.

I have to thank them for being with me that day :)

And the party that evening. What a great time! Oh, please, why do people want to get drunk if there's such an AWESOME way to welcome the new year!!? Just thanking God, everyone in our own language, and all together dancing and laughing!

Well, now all there's left to say is that I'm very thankful. To God, on the first place, and to all the people I met there. It's been wonderful, awesome, I just can't find the words to describe it. I've found strength to go on living for Him. I've found ways of sharing more and more my faith. And then, there's just one word in my tongue, written now by the tops of my fingers. ¡GRACIAS!
